How effective is it? 

Scientific tests show that the PROPELLER increases blood calcium from 10 minutes after intake to 24 hours after intake. Without the PROPELLER blood calcium decreased after calving. PROPELLER – quicker acting and longer lasting. 

How deleterious is milk fever? 

Down cows are at increased risks of muscle damage due to recumbency, injuries when attempting to rise and premature culling.

Which cows is it for? 

For all cows at second calving or older.

The risk of low calcium increases with age.

When should it be offered? 

Offer within 1 hour after calving, before the cow drinks anything else.

How should it be prepared?

Dissolve the contents of 2 bags in 20 liters of water (1 bag per 10 litres). Use a clean bucket. 

How do cows drink it? 

As good as water. Need calcium? Drink PROPELLER. 

How to increase appetite? 

Remove a handful of parturition slime from the calf and add it to the calcium drink.

How much does milk fever cost? 

€ 350 per case on average. Due to treatment costs, more labour, less milk produced, impaired fertility, and higher risks of weak uterine contractions during calving, retained placenta, teat injury, mastitis, ketosis and displaced abomasum.
